FAQs

Do I really need counseling?

Deciding to start counseling is a very personal decision. It is a commitment you make to personal growth and confronting the changes you need to make in your life. Counseling requires a willingness to be open to new perspectives and a desire to see change happen in your life.

Does counseling really work?

Yes! Counseling has been proven to be an effective in helping individuals with their emotional and psychological well-being. In fact, 75% of individuals who participated in psychotherapy showed improvement in their overall mental health after six months of services.

What can I expect from the counseling process?

I take a client-centered approach to counseling. I meet you where you are and together, we develop a plan to tackle the issues you are bringing to therapy. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my role is merely to help guide and navigate you through the resolution of your presenting concern. There is no specific timeline or limit on sessions as the therapeutic process is client-led.

How long is a counseling session and how often would we meet?

The first appointment, called the intake, is approximately 90 minutes. Appointments, thereafter, are 60 minutes. Ideally, we would meet once weekly. However, frequency is determined by you and me as we identify your needs and a plan to address those needs.
